My dad is a pastor and one year the teen girls took a picture they had of him making a face, and had it blown up to poster size. He looked like a gorilla. That picture got lots of mileage. Another year, my daddy was given a pair of underwear that would fit a woman of probably 600 pounds. Being from the country, often gag gifts included dried cow chips, those gifts sometimes backfired. None of my family members were rich, but we all enjoyed life and loved each other. I love visiting with my cousins and reminiscing about those days when we were kids. Lots of my extended family (aunts and grandparents) have passed on, but the memories of them are still dear to us. Those days truly represent Christmas joy for me.

Born and raised in Arkansas, she loves her home state and is happy to live there with her husband of nearly twenty-nine years and her adult son. She and her family are very active in their local church, serving in many volunteer positions.
