FBI Special Agent Tom Donovan’s life spins out of control when Angel Ramos, the drug lord he’s been investigating, kidnaps Tom’s eighteen-year-old son, Kenny. While Kenny fights to survive, Tom pursues Ramos aggressively. On the worst night of his life, he discovers his greatest strength isn’t his at all.

Which of your characters do you secretly have a crush on?
I love Tom Donovan! He’s strong, aggressive, and he frequently overruns his headlights. But his heart is good. He’s a wounded warrior, and I love that.

Coffee or tea?
Coffee. Black. Just the way Tom drinks it.

What are you reading right now?
Just finished “The Nature of the Beast,” by Louise Penny, and “My Name is Lucy Barton,” by Elizabeth Strout. About to start “The Nightingale” by Kristin Hannah.

The Nanny's Secret Child
by Lorraine Beatty

Published: April 1, 2016
From: Love Inspired
Purchase: The Nanny's Secret Child

Widower Gil Montgomery’s new nanny has a secret. There’s a reason Julie Bishop and Gil’s daughter Abby connect so perfectly—Julie is Abby’s birth mother. Julie gave her daughter up for adoption years ago, but she couldn’t resist the chance to be close to the child her heart never forgot. But Julie never imagined she’d fall for the handsome adoptive dad. Gil’s been burned before, and Julie worries that if her secret is exposed, he’ll never forgive her.

The perfect family is so close, but so far… Unless Gil can let the past go and welcome Julie home. Right where she belongs.

Who is your favorite secondary character?
In one of my pre-Love Inspired books, I had a older woman named Florence who was interested in everything. She rode a motorcycle, took quilting classes, tap dancing lessons, arranged flowers and a long list of other things. She was so fun. I may have to clone her soon and use her in a LI book.

Coffee or tea?
Coffee. First thing. But I’m a purest. Regular coffee with cream and sugar. No flavors, not foam, or froth or little drawings. Okay, I’ll have an occasional Starbucks but only if there’s someone with me to interpret. They’re good but no way can I let myself get hooked on that stuff. I already have two favorite desserts. (*see next question.) I can’t afford another one. LOL

Favorite dessert?
Can I only have one? I just had a birthday so I ordered Chocolate Cake with Fudge icing. Yum. But I’m also in love with Bread Pudding – any kind, with or without rum sauce. I’ll confess I sometimes (rarely) I’ll make a small batch just for me. LOL

Lorraine Beatty | Spread the Christmas Joy

I’ve enjoyed nearly seventy Christmas’s so far each one with special memories. Trying to pick one to share has been difficult. Between, my childhood, my marriage, my kids and grandkids, I could fill a book with Christmas memories. What I realized as I thought back was that each year had something beautiful, funny, touching or even poignant. The first Christmas without my grandpa, our first Christmas as man and wife, as parents, and the Christmas we enjoyed as new grandparents. Interestingly enough, while each was special none of them were perfect. That’s what made them so memorable.

One Christmas that stands out is my first with my husband’s family. I only had one brother, and one set of grandparents, so our Christmas celebrations were very small and low key. My husband is the oldest of seven and Christmas was a huge deal in his house. His dad liked to decorate so the house was filled with tinsel and lights and candles and all things Christmas. It could have been Christmas store all by itself.

Christmas morning was pure chaos. Paper and ribbon flying everywhere eventually covering the entire floor. The gifts were simple, but everyone got tons of packages. It was the first time I saw anyone put toys and goodies in a stocking. (I usually got oranges and candy.) I knew then that when we had children of our own, our Christmas would include lots of presents and lots of decorations. But it didn’t stop there. My mother-in-law is one of eight. Her mother was one of eight and she lived right next door. Christmas night everyone and I do mean everyone came to Grandma’s house and there were more presents. I counted the people once but lost track around eighty-two. What a fun day that was and it changed my concept of family and Christmas forever. I’m so blessed to have married into the Beatty family.

Whatever your Christmas day is like, enjoy it for what it is. Time with family and time to rejoice on the greatest miracle of all. The day God shed his glory and humbled himself to become human like us so in the end he could reconcile us to the father. Emmanuel.

“You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”

Favorite dessert?
Bread pudding. With or without the rum. :)

Favorite season?
Spring. Wish it could be spring forever so the weather would be perfect and all the plants in bloom. I’m in the south so most of the flowers are toast by July and it’s hot! :)

What actress would play you if your life was a movie?
A young Sally Field. I wanted to be her back when she was Gidget. Today, probably Candace Cameron Bure just because I admire her faith.

Love In The Details

Zondervan

Eight years have passed since Holly last saw her high school sweetheart, Josh. Now the wedding of Josh’s best friend has brought him back to Martinsburg, Texas. His duties as best man and Holly's as the church's volunteer wedding coordinator link them together. As they work behind the scenes to plan a beautiful November wedding for their friends, they're forced to confront painful reminders of what might have been.

Holly broke up with Josh all those years ago in an attempt to ensure his future success. However, she never told him the true reason behind her actions and now must decide whether to keep her secret hidden. She's terrified of letting herself fall for him because she barely managed to piece her life back together after losing him the last time.

Not a day's gone by since Josh parted from Holly that he hasn't thought about her. The pain of the past eight years has been too much to bear and he doesn't want to make himself vulnerable to her again. But the more time he spends with her, the harder it is to deny the love he still has for her.

Will Josh and Holly risk their hearts on the hope that God's timing really can be best?

Get to know Becky...
What are the names of your pets?
My Cavalier King Charles spaniel is named Sam. He's as sweet as he is cute and he makes a great writing buddy. His snores are my creative soundtrack!

If you could live in a fantasy world, who’s would it be?
My own. Why? Because heroes like Josh, Jake Porter, and Gray Fowler (star of the upcoming Her One and Only) live and breathe in the world of my imagination. Also, the settings of my books tend to be very cute, charming towns featuring coffee shops, yummy desserts, sweet families. My fictional towns would make great places to live.

What's your favorite chore?
Laundry. I really dislike grocery shopping, cooking, and doing dishes. But I don't mind laundry. It gives me a sense of satisfaction to move dirty clothes through two machines, sort and fold them into piles while watching TV at night, and then deliver them the next morning. My laundry efforts put my family's clothes back to rights for a whole hour or so before the dirty clothes hampers begin filling again.

"Asking questions could cost your life."

Two years after the plane crash that killed her fiancé, Amy Silver has fallen for his best friend, artist Michael Stratton. When a local reporter claims the small aircraft may have been sabotaged, it reopens Amy's grief.

Anonymous warnings and threats are Amy's only proof that the tragedy was deliberate, and she has nowhere to turn. The authorities don't believe her, God is not an option, and Michael's protection is starting to feel like a cage.

Get to know Janet...

Favorite place you’ve traveled to?
We took a European river cruise last year, and it was awesome. Still, I think the place I've loved most is Scotland, the countryside more than the cities. We were there over 30 years ago... it's way past time to go back!

Coffee or tea?
Tea, to the point where we currently have a moratorium on buying any more until we finish some of the varieties on hand. Morning starts with a hot cup of "regular" tea. My favourite special teas are a chocolate mint and a maraschino cherry, but hey, it's the fall, and I'm drinking pumpkin chai. Believe me, there's enough to share!

If you were stranded on an island what are three things you couldn’t live without?
My Bible, my music (with infinite power supply) and something to write with. (I'm assuming food is a given.)
