NaNo-ing in 2019

Hello friends! I'm sure you've all been on the edge of your seat wondering...will Emilie participate in NaNoWriMo this year? (Ha, okay so maybe not) But the answer is....YES! And here's why...

Why I'm doing NaNo in 2019

First off, can we acknowledge the reality that I haven't sent out a newsletter update in FOREVER? And the other reality that I'll be fixing that ASAP! If you haven't signed up for my newsletter you'll want to do that (*winky face*) for a number of reasons. One being the fact that I'll be doing a super-cool giveaway and two being the fact that you'll get to hear more about my book!!!

But, back to NaNo. I've come up with a list of reasons that I should do NaNoWriMo this year and I thought I'd share them with you. Perhaps you're considering whether to do it or not and these may help you make a decision.

1. I'm in between projects.

As I'll share about in my next newsletter update (see what I did there?) I'm currently in between projects. You know what this means? There's nothing I *have* to be writing, but there's plenty I *should* be writing. I don't want to sit back and not write for an extended period of time.

2. I have a LOT of book ideas.

Friends...I cannot tell you HOW many book ideas I have. I mean, it's in the hundreds I'm sure 😜 Okay, so maybe not that many but I do have many ideas and I want to write them all! So why not start with one in November?

3. I run a super fun NaNoWriMo group on Facebook.

It's not exactly a reason to do NaNo, but it is motivation! I run a Support & Encouragement group on Facebook and it's just that - support and encouragement during the month of November for NaNo. I want to join in with everyone else who is doing a NaNo project this year!

4. I need the challenge.

Remember all those book-ideas I've got? I need something to challenge me to write them! If not, they'll just sit there and I'll let other things get in the way. A deadline is always helpful!

5. Fall is my favorite time to write!

I seriously LOVE writing in the fall. There is something so motivating and exciting to me about writing as the leaves change and the weather cools. *sigh*

6. I want to focus on writing.

This sounds a little repetitive, but I am narrowing down my focus (slowly, but it is happening). I want to be doing things that envigorate me, like writing and designing. NaNoWriMo is a great opportunity for that and get's me into writing for ME every day!

Are you doing NaNo this year? If so, come find me on the updated NaNoWriMo website and add me as a buddy (my name is to the right).

I'll be posting soon about what I'll be working on (in vague terms for now) soon!

  1. Glad you'll be joining! I'm equal parts dread and excitement this year. I'm going to be doing a full rewrite of an old manuscript, which is tough work but also super rewarding.
