We Told Six Lies by Victoria Scott | Blog Tour

What is the worst lie you ever told?

I'm talking about this here on the blog today as well on my Instagram (see the post here).

So, what about you? Will you own up to a lie you've told? Anyone who comments here or on my IG post will be entered into a drawing for a giveaway of this book!

As for me...I said this on my Instagram post but I really hate lying. I mean...badly. I can't even tell a lie to the inspection agents on the California/Oregon border when they ask if I have any produce! To me, telling a lie puts me in the situation of feeling guilty every time I do and then I hate feeling that so I then know I need to tell the person I lied to. I just can't keep a lie!

As for the worst lie I've told, I couldn't come up with one (I know, fail!). It's not to say that I haven't told them, but at this point I can only think of when I was younger and perhaps told a lie then.

I will say that, if I do think of lying (or am tempted to), it's usually for what I would call the "benefit" of the other person. Like a lie so as not to hurt someone's feelings with my true opinion. I am NOT saying this type of lie is okay - I don't think any lying is all right - but I think I'd mostly fall into that category.

Still, lies can be destructive which is likely why we usually find them to be intriguing or what book are "about" sometimes. Someone caught in a lie is a huge source of tension in a book as it is in real life. This is probably why we read about it so frequently!

We Told Six Lies is out February 5th while Victoria's other book, Violet Grenade is out now.

Clean readers note: Please note that this book has language and adult content in it. If you are sensitive to those things then this book is likely not for you!

We Told Six Lies

Remember how many lies we told, Molly? It’s enough to make my head spin. You were wild when I met you, and I was mad for you. But then something happened. And now you’re gone.

But don’t worry. I’ll find you. I just need to sift through the story of us to get to where you might be. I’ve got places to look, and a list of names.

The police have a list of names, too. See now? There’s another lie. There is only one person they’re really looking at, Molly.

And that’s yours truly.
