An Opportunity for Converstaion: Commit to Bring Your Bible to School October 6 | Adventures In Odyssey

Emilie here:

Do you have kids? Know college students? On October 6th, students across America will be celebrating religious freedom on Bring Your Bible To School Day. As things are continuing to get more and more clouded about what separation of church and state really means, it's the perfect opportunity to have conversations with your kids, friends, neighbors, and family. I have a feeling some of these questions will come up:

  • What does it mean to have religious freedom?
  • What does "tolerance" really mean and how is it expressed?
  • Can you still be friends if you disagree with what someone else believes?
  • How do you love someone well (like Christ would love them) if you don't agree with them?
These questions (and many others) are so important and I believe as Christians we need to be thinking about them, talking with other Christians about them, and--above all--praying about them!

Adventures and Odyssey is also joining in for Bring Your Bible To School Day. As they are known for, their episode “A Predicament of Biblical Proportions” will tackle issues and questions kids may have or face in a fun and helpful way that can stimulate conversation between children and parents. See details below...

Getting used to a new school isn’t easy, especially for someone as paranoid as Buddy Norman. In “A Predicament of Biblical Proportions” he envisions wacky worst-case encounters with townsfolk who seem like mobsters, snoops and fairy-tale tyrants—until he gets to know them. He’s also a little confused about Bring Your Bible to School Day. What’s it about? Should he participate? See Odyssey through Buddy’s eyes in this witty celebration of religious freedom.

Listen to this story through a two-week trial only on the Odyssey Adventure Club.
